Lower Keys Underwater Music Festival to Promote Reef Protection
May 18, 2022 • KW Tourist
If you're looking for a truly unique underwater experience, look no further than the Lower Keys Underwater Music Festival. This one-of-a-kind event takes place at Looe Key Reef, and features music broadcast underwater via speakers suspended beneath boats.
Not only is this a great opportunity to explore the continental United States' only living coral barrier reef, but it's also a chance to promote reef protection. The Lower Keys Underwater Music Festival was created to raise awareness of the importance of protecting our coral reefs.
During the festival, you'll be able to swim among colorful tropical fish and coral formations while swaying to a sea-focused playlist. You might even spot some "mermaids" and their costumed cohorts!
If you're interested in participating, you can reserve space on boats run by Lower Keys dive operators, or launch your own boat from a public ramp or marina.
