Where: Tennessee Williams Theatre, 5901 College Rd, Key West, FL 33040

We are delighted to announce the Key West Symphony's season opener, a concert that highlights the remarkable compositions of two pioneering female composers: Florence Price and Jessie Montgomery. Florence Price holds the distinction of being the first African American composer to have her work performed by a major U.S. orchestra, marking a significant milestone in the history of American music. Jessie Montgomery, on the other hand, is celebrated as one of today's most compelling and innovative creators in the world of classical music.

The program for this special event will also include Johannes Brahms' eloquent Symphony No. 1, showcasing his mastery of lyrical melodies and orchestral grandeur. Adding to the evening's excitement, the exceptionally talented pianist Awadagin Pratt will grace the stage. Pratt will perform Montgomery's latest composition for solo piano and string orchestra, promising a captivating and evocative musical experience. In addition to this, the audience will be treated to another first-time performance by the SFSO, featuring Bach's Keyboard Concerto No. 4.

For those interested in attending the symphony's Key West concerts, we are pleased to offer tickets as part of a package deal. All performances will take place at the Tennessee Williams Theatre, located at 5901 College Rd.
